What takes place in the fiftieth year?

Leviticus 25:10 (ESV)

10 And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you, when each of you shall return to his property and each of you shall return to his clan.

The fiftieth year is called the Jubilee. The term Jubilee is related to a word that means ram or ram’s horn. The ram’s horn is to be sounded throughout the land on the Day of Atonement at the beginning of the fiftieth year to announce a year-long celebration.
