At first glance, the placement of Leviticus 24:1–23 after a chapter that focuses on annual religious feasts may seem strange. Why would laws that deal with the daily religious activities be inserted at this point? It may be that the Lord intended to remind the priests to not neglect their daily duties in the temple in preference for the annual festivities.
