In Acts 15:29, the Jerusalem church encouraged Gentile believers to, Abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality.
The command to abstain from blood had much to do with Gentile practices at the time. The principle that we might derive from this is not to associate ourselves with pagan or idolatrous practices that might cause others to stumble.
