1. Leviticus 18:4 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

How do the verbs serve to reinforce the Lord’s command?

Leviticus 18:4 (ESV)

4 You shall follow my rules and keep my statutes and walk in them. I am the LORD your God.

Two imperfect verbs, you shall follow (‛śh) and you shall keep (šmr) express strong commands. Together with the verb walk (hlk), these verbs reinforce total obedience and adherence to this command.
