1. Galatians 6:17 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What is the trouble that Paul has been caused and now seeks to avoid?

Galatians 6:17 (ESV)

17 From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.

The trouble refers to the false teaching that Paul has challenged and corrected with his letter. Now that the new creation has been inaugurated, no one should trouble Paul with the requirements and regulations of the present evil age by trying to impose old covenant law on Gentile converts. 1 They must also stop harbouring hostile intentions towards him (see Galatians 4:15–20). 2
