Psalm 139:15 (ESV)

15 My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.

No one else but the Lord saw how his bones, the framework for the body, slowly developed; a growth poetically described here as intricately woven in a secret process in the depths of the earth.

In today’s world we know more about the amazing development of an unborn child in the womb, by means of an ultrasound scan or fetal echocardiogram. And yet, the beginning of a human being in the womb remains a large and secret mystery. Especially knowing that the whole 9-month development process is not taking place outside of God, makes our awe and amazement for the Creator grow. Consider Genesis 1:26–27 and Genesis 2:7 and Genesis 2:18–22, where we read about the creation of the first people (man and woman) by God, and we may be stimulated to even greater awe for him!
