Idolatry and sorcery/witchcraft are vices that have to do with a refusal to honour and worship the one true God (see Romans 1:21–25). In the case of sorcery, it is condemned and grouped with idolatry because instead trusting in God to know and control the future, people try to manipulate circumstances to bring about the end which they desire (Exodus 7:11, Exodus 7:22; Exodus 8:14; Isaiah 47:9, Isaiah 47:12; Revelation 18:23).1
