Trusting in people will not help us to build a future. Anyone who does not look beyond creation sees no future, also not when it comes to law and justice. Every person you rely on, will die one day (see also Psalm 146:3–4). Sometimes it even seems as if people and animals are almost the same. The truth is that humans and animals will die one day. That’s irrevocable.
19 For what happens to the children of man and what happens to the beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity.
