Micah offers the Levite ten pieces of silver a year, a suit of clothes, and room and board. The “ten pieces of silver” are likely ten shekels. This is a miserly sum of money, from someone whose family has a great deal of silver at its disposal, as seen in Judges 17:2.
10 And Micah said to him, “Stay with me, and be to me a father and a priest, and I will give you ten pieces of silver a year and a suit of clothes and your living.” And the Levite went in.
