What was the extent of Micah’s disobedience in having taken the silver?
Judges 17:2 (ESV)
2And he said to his mother, “The 1,100 pieces of silver that were taken from you, about which you uttered a curse, and also spoke it in my ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it.” And his mother said, “Blessed be my son by the LORD.”
By his act, Micah dishonoured his mother (Exodus 20:12), stole property (Exodus 20:15), acted the fool (Proverbs 15:20; Proverbs 19:26); Proverbs 23:22), and became “a companion to a man who destroys” (Proverbs 28:24).
