Suffering as temporary

1 Peter 5:10 (ESV)

10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

For the redeemed of God, suffering is short-term and of minor import relative to the glory that shall be ours when we receive the promised inheritance (1 Peter 1:4). The God who has prepared this inheritance for us will equip and strengthen for the duration of the suffering, and he will work all the tears and anguish to his children’s benefit. His almighty identity gives abundant reassurance to his people in their trials. For Christians new to the faith and only beginning to experience the suffering that may come with being misunderstood and distrusted by the spiritually unborn of the community, these promises are stimulating and encouraging.
