These words are not to prompt us to think of a second throne (Revelation 3:21). Christ Jesus has ascended into heaven as the triumphant Lamb of God (recall Revelation 5:6) and received all authority and power from God. So the praises of all creatures in heaven and on earth are directed to “him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb” (Revelation 5:13), where the authority and the power of the One is the same as that of the Other; indeed, the praise of the One is because of the work of the Other.
