  1. Revelation 21:24 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

Why is the use of the verb “bring” striking?

Revelation 21:24 (ESV)

24 By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it,

The passage sets the glory of kings beside the glory of God. But their respective “glory” is so imbalanced that kings do what God would never do, that is, bring their glory to the Other.
