Bread, wine, and oil were the most important products made from crops that grew in Palestine. Bread is necessary for man’s livelihood and provides strength to those who are vulnerable (see also Psalm 8:5; Psalm 90:3; Psalm 103:15). The wine provides joy after hard work, and oil softens the skin and makes it shine. Thus, the heart of man is lifted up and he is of good cheer.
