Psalm 104:11 (ESV)

11 they give drink to every beast of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst.

The animals perk up because of the fresh water. It is so for the wild donkey. The European donkey of today cannot be compared with that of the Orient. The domestic donkeys of Europe are usually small, stubborn, and malicious animals, often considered stupid. In the East the donkey grows into a beautiful, stately, and lively animal.1 Exactly this description is given by the Creator to Job (Job 39:5–8). It is for God a pleasure to supply these wild animals, over which we have no control, with what they need.
