1. Psalm 104:7 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

Commentary on Psalm 104:7 (Summary)

Psalm 104:7 (ESV)

7 At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your thunder they took to flight.

God’s mighty word of power is central here. The waters had to recede quickly. They had to obey God’s thunderous voice immediately (see also Job 38:8–11; Jeremiah 5:22).

It is fitting to think here of Psalm 33:9, where we read, “For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.”
