This phrase is used again in Song of Solomon 6:3 and Song of Solomon 7:10 and it is one of the phrases that gives the Song its unity. This phrase also reminds the reader of the covenant formula I will be their God, and they will be my people
(Jeremiah 7:23; Jeremiah 11:4; Ezekiel 34:30).1
