The offspring of Ham ended up in northern Africa and the Middle East, including Canaan. Ham had four sons but the Chronicler records only the descendants of Cush, Egypt and Canaan. These three names are emphasised by the Chronicler because offspring became large nations and sometimes even geographic regions, which are important to the history of the Israelites.
