What does Samson’s suggestion to use new ropes recall?

Judges 16:11 (ESV)

11 And he said to her, “If they bind me with new ropes that have not been used, then I shall become weak and be like any other man.”

For the second round, Samson tells Delilah to use new ropes to bind him. This was in fact the same technique that the Israelites used to bind Samson in Judges 15:13. It is no surprise, therefore, that the attempt was unsuccessful.
