Why does Paul say that grace and peace is from the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ?

Galatians 1:3 (ESV)

3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,

With this phrase, Paul is equating Jesus Christ with God the Father. They are the joint source of grace and peace.1 Nowhere in the New Testament do grace and peace come from an angelic or a human being.2
