27 It was for those in Bethel, in Ramoth of the Negeb, in Jattir,

All of the sites mentioned are in southern Judah, mostly around Hebron.1 These were the places that provided shelter to David and his men during his wilderness years.2 They were likely also the places that he visited periodically during his previous raids (cf. 1 Samuel 27:10).3
