1. 1 Samuel 28:1 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

Why did Achish want David and his men to accompany him in the Philistine army?

1 Samuel 28:1 (ESV)

1 In those days the Philistines gathered their forces for war, to fight against Israel. And Achish said to David, “Understand that you and your men are to go out with me in the army.”

Achish knew that David had a strong and loyal following of men. They would have been helpful in any battle. He wanted and expected David to fight with him.
