Why is Nabal’s property and wealth mentioned before his name?

1 Samuel 25:2–3 (ESV)

2 And there was a man in Maon whose business was in Carmel. The man was very rich; he had three thousand sheep and a thousand goats. He was shearing his sheep in Carmel.

The mention of Nabal’s possessions before his person shows that his life was determined by his property. He lived to defend his property and he died after extravagant enjoyment of his property.1
