2 Surely there are mockers about me, and my eye dwells on their provocation.

As if Job’s misery were not great enough, there are people who mock him for it (Job 12:4; Job 16:10). Moreover, these people include Job’s own friends. With a show of piety, they have connected his misery to wickedness.
