Why was Saul pleased about his daughter's love for David?

20 Now Saul’s daughter Michal loved David. And they told Saul, and the thing pleased him.

With David having returned from his campaigns against the Philistines, Saul required another reason to send him out to battle once again. The prospect of marriage with Michal provided Saul with such a reason.
