Who was Adriel of Meholah?

1 Samuel 18:19 (ESV)

19 But at the time when Merab, Saul’s daughter, should have been given to David, she was given to Adriel the Meholathite for a wife.

Adriel was the son of Barzillai. He likely lived in the territory of Manasseh, west of the Jordan River. Merab bore him five sons but they were all executed by the Gibeonites because of Saul’s sin (2 Samuel 21:8).1
