What does it mean for David to come in the name of the LORD Almighty?
1 Samuel 17:45 (ESV)
45Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
David came to fight as the Lord’s representative.1 He considered himself as the one tasked with bringing judgment on the Philistine for his blasphemy.2
