What does it mean for Goliath to defy the ranks of Israel?
1 Samuel 17:10 (ESV)
10And the Philistine said, “I defy the ranks of Israel this day. Give me a man, that we may fight together.”
With this phrase, Goliath is challenging the armies of Israel. He is stating the fact that he stands opposed to them and does not think there is anyone amongst them who is able to come out and fight against him.
