The priest evaluates the wall of the house in order to determine if there is a possible fungus infection. The term reddish “spots” (šǝqaʿărûrōt) is used only here in the Old Testament. It may be translated as “depression” or “cavity.” These spots appear to be deeper than the surface of the wall.
