What was symbolized by the blood being put on the right ear lobe, the right hand thumb, and the right big toe?
The ceremonial ritual in this verse was first mentioned in Leviticus 8:23–24 during the consecration of the priesthood. The right ear lobe and big toe serve as a form of merism. That is, the whole person is being symbolized by his extremities. By performing this ceremonial ritual, the priest indicates that the Israelite is clean in his entire being.
