Job 13:3 (ESV)

3 But I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to argue my case with God.

Even though Job had said that God will refuse to declare him righteous (Job 9:1–35), he cannot bring himself to believe it. Indeed, God is the only one who can prove his innocence. Since his pleas and arguments had made no impression on his cold-hearted friends, he turns to God as his only hope.
