Commentary on Psalm 145:16 (Summary)

Psalm 145:16 (ESV)

16 You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing.

You can see this verse as an effect of Psalm 145:15b: the Lord gives—food comes from his hand (see also Psalm 147:9; Matthew 6:26; Luke 12:24). Neither man nor animal keeps themselves alive. The screeching of a young raven is, as it were, a prayer to God for food!
