Where was Negeb?

Isaiah 21:1 (ESV)

1 The oracle concerning the wilderness of the sea. As whirlwinds in the Negeb sweep on, it comes from the wilderness, from a terrible land.

Negeb was the southern part of Palestine. Violent storms started in this southern or southeastern desert, leaving destruction in their wake (Job 1:19; Hosea 13:15).
