What is the meaning of “Manoah”?

Judges 13:2 (ESV)

2 There was a certain man of Zorah, of the tribe of the Danites, whose name was Manoah. And his wife was barren and had no children.

The name of Samson’s father means “rest, resting place.” This immediately raises the reader’s expectations: will the Lord use Manoah to give Israel rest, something they have lacked since the days of Gideon?
