What followed the first seven-day quarantine period?
Leviticus 13:5 (ESV)
5And the priest shall examine him on the seventh day, and if in his eyes the disease is checked and the disease has not spread in the skin, then the priest shall shut him up for another seven days.
If the infection had not spread by the end of the week, the priest would isolate the person for an additional seven days. This quarantine period would have helped distinguish acute from chronic diseases.
5 And the priest shall examine him on the seventh day, and if in his eyes the disease is checked and the disease has not spread in the skin, then the priest shall shut him up for another seven days.
