The disasters that have struck Job are witnesses
of his guilt. If he would claim to be innocent (Job 10:16), God would still renew his witnesses against him. Job’s reasoning here is in line with that of his friends, that suffering is proof of guilt.
17 You renew your witnesses against me and increase your vexation toward me; you bring fresh troops against me.
