Commentary on Job 10:17 (Summary)

Job 10:17 (ESV)

17 You renew your witnesses against me and increase your vexation toward me; you bring fresh troops against me.

The disasters that have struck Job are witnesses of his guilt. If he would claim to be innocent (Job 10:16), God would still renew his witnesses against him. Job’s reasoning here is in line with that of his friends, that suffering is proof of guilt.
