What is the danger we face during trials? What is the temptation? James faces it head on. The temptation is to think God is ruining my life. God is sovereign, and [then we might want to ask], why am I having these problems in my life? My life is too hard; my life is too difficult; the trial is too great. God is tempting me; God is luring me into sin. It is his fault. It is more than I can bare. He must not love me. If he really cared for me, I would not face these things.1
Thomas Schreiner
13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.
