Commentary on Job 9:28–29 (Summary)

Job 9:28–29 (ESV)

28 I become afraid of all my suffering, for I know you will not hold me innocent.

Suppressing his grief will not help to ease his suffering, because God will still hold him guilty. Again, notice that Job has been led by his friends into this false dilemma. They all assume that his suffering must be a matter of guilt versus innocence.
