How could Judah not trust in the Lord?

Zephaniah 3:2 (ESV)

2 She listens to no voice; she accepts no correction. She does not trust in the LORD; she does not draw near to her God.

Judah had keenly experienced God’s salvation. So how could Judah not then trust in the Lord? What led them to reject the Lord? Jerusalem attempted to put her trust in wealth, military power, foreign alliances, or even in other gods. Rather than draw near to her God in trust, she sought to establish her own security, and in so doing she refused God’s offer of life (Isaiah 1:9) and turned from justice to trust in oppression.1
