Why is the beast’s opponent described as “him who was sitting on the horse”?
Revelation 19:19 (ESV)
19And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army.
As readers we have already met this rider and realize that victory is his. That the beast arrays his armies against this divine rider with his Word-sword is foolish. Then again, sin and rebellion are foolish.
