Commentary on Job 9:19 (Summary)

Job 9:19 (ESV)

19 If it is a contest of strength, behold, he is mighty! If it is a matter of justice, who can summon him?

Whereas Job’s friends emphasized God’s justice, Job emphasizes God’s strength. God is so mighty, says Job, that no one can afford to even begin questioning his justice. The strongest party is always in the right!
