It seems that Paul is asking something for himself when he says, complete my joy.
But it immediately becomes apparent that he is concerned with the church. The Philippians can make him happy by being of the same mind. Unanimously, focused on the same goal, namely, that the gospel of Christ works through in the church. Apparently, this unanimity was lacking in Philippi (see also Philippians 4:2). Paul underlines his appeal with some brief exhortations. Have the same love—the love for Christ and his gospel. Be in full accord and of one mind.
