Why do the foremen go to Pharaoh?

Exodus 5:15–16 (ESV)

15 Then the foremen of the people of Israel came and cried to Pharaoh, “Why do you treat your servants like this?

The foremen complain about the behaviour of the taskmasters of the employer, Pharaoh. They hope he will judge that the taskmasters’ demands are unreasonable and impossible. They emphasize their loyalty to Pharaoh by calling themselves his servants three times. They also blame Pharaoh’s own people (your own people) for not getting the work done. They appeal to him so that he will stop the impossible demands and the unjust punishments.
