With this paragraph Peter has concluded the central section of his epistle regarding doing good in the face of suffering. In the remaining portion of his letter (1 Peter 4:12 – 5:14), he offers additional words of encouragement to diverse groups among his readers.
7 The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.
