Genesis 2:8 (ESV)

8 And the LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed.

Genesis 2:8–9 show that the Lord assigned a very special place for man—a garden, a paradise. It is part of the earth where everything that man may need is immediately available. Memories of that beautiful garden which the Lord made for man in Eden can be found, for example, in Genesis 13:10; Isaiah 51:3; Ezekiel 28:13; Ezekiel 31:8–9.
