Genesis 1:10 (ESV)

10 God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.

God gives names to the dry land and the water. It is also the last time we read that the Lord names anything during the creation. He continues his creative work but then leaves the naming to man whom he creates on the sixth day. Man then has to give names on God’s behalf, as his representative (see Genesis 2:19–20, Genesis 2:23).
