What is the reason for the incredible cruelty described in Isaiah 13:15–16?
Isaiah 13:15–16 (ESV)
15Whoever is found will be thrust through, and whoever is caught will fall by the sword.
Those who were not able to flee, would die. The Medes would not be taking prisoners, and the prophecy makes it clear that they were extremely cruel and brutal in their attacks. There would be no mercy for Babylon.
