1. Isaiah 13:10 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What is the significance of the sun and moon no longer shedding their dark?

Isaiah 13:10 (ESV)

10 For the stars of the heavens and their constellations will not give their light; the sun will be dark at its rising, and the moon will not shed its light.

This verse paints a picture of the great magnitude of the judgment. Even nature will be dressed in clothing of wrath. At creation, the earth was dark and desolate and the first work of creation was the introduction of light. That light will now disappear, so that day and night will be dark.
