Commentary on Job 5:20–23 (Summary)

Job 5:20–23 (ESV)

20 In famine he will redeem you from death, and in war from the power of the sword.

Here Eliphaz lists examples of the calamities (Job 5:19) from which God can deliver one: death, sword, slander, destruction, attacks from wild animals, and stones that make the land infertile. With God’s help, these things can have no destructive power over you.
