Commentary on Job 5:18 (Summary)

Job 5:18 (ESV)

18 For he wounds, but he binds up; he shatters, but his hands heal.

When a sinner repents and humbles himself under God’s chastisement, God is also the one who heals the sinner’s wounds. Again, Eliphaz speaks truth, even a comforting truth. But to someone in Job’s situation, this truth sounds cold and heartless.
